CSIRO discovers that the world is not flat, that babies aren't delivered by storks and that God didn't make little green apples.

The CSIRO is the latest organisation to urge governments to invest more in public transport.

It says the high price of oil will result in people changing their lifestyles and trying to reduce the distances they have to travel, especially to work.

CSIRO energy adviser David Lamb says this is where public transport is vital.

“We’re in a mess today and we’ve got to get out of it,” he said.

“Clearly we’ve got to do lots and lots of things, not just look at smaller or more fuel-efficient cars.

“We’ve got to desperately try and catch up with our neglected public transport over many years.

“We’ve got to do more to help the less fortunate people – times are going to get a lot tougher for a lot of people.”

BTW, when did Blogger decide that '!' was no longer permissible in labels and titles?!
